After 19 minutes, Mohamed Ghannouchi mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Highbury and Islington and the Thetford United players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 29th minute of the match, Ahmed Jazi tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Kais El Bez saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. The Highbury and Islington fans' excitement grew in the 64th match minute when Highbury and Islington's Tarak Essebsi looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. Thetford United's Maher Mzoughi got a good chance for a goal in the 88th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. If Ahmed Jazi had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 90th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. In the 92nd minute, Mohamed Ghannouchi hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Ahmed Jazi fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 94th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Kais El Bez having to interfere. When the final whistle was heard the away supporters stood up and showed their joy. Highbury and Islington had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
