In the 30th minute there was a penalty for Weir. Karim Mechergui stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Zied Escheikh. 0-1. If Amine Thabet had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 36th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. 43 minutes into the game, Hédi Dahmani cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-2. Zied Escheikh was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

Ghazi Jawachi hit a great freekick 53 minutes into the match. In the 55th match minute, Curdridge was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Mokhtar Benachour to maneuver through the defense. Imed Trabelsi fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 57th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Zied Escheikh having to interfere. Zied Escheikh took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Hédi Dahmani, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Mohamed Mouaia Jouili hit a great freekick 61 minutes into the match. 0-3 became the score in the 65th minute when Hédi Dahmani elegantly shot the ball into goal just under the crossbar.
