In the 3rd minute of the match, Mehdi Ben Saidi got a very nice opportunity to score, but Akram Miaâdi was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. Adel Mokthar hit a great freekick 4 minutes into the match. Jemeleddine Abdallah received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 6th minute. Zoubair El Abidine Ben Ali tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 9th match minute, Penzance City was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Majed Sboui to maneuver through the defense. Akram Miaâdi made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Mongi Thabet in the 13th minute of play. The supporters of Canvey Island booed when Penzance City was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 13 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ali Jaïdi didn't get a good kick on the ball. After having played for 15 minutes, Muhammad Arfa managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Canvey Island's supporters crossed their fingers, but Muhammad Arfa was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Mongi Thabet fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 16th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Akram Miaâdi having to interfere. Mehdi Ben Saidi fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 19th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Akram Miaâdi having to interfere. In the 21st minute the ball was on its way in behind Canvey Island's goalkeeper Akram Miaâdi, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Akram Miaâdi made a fantastic save in the 29th minute, when Chokri Saidi sent off a good shot on target. Hedi Amira Trabelsi hit a great freekick 38 minutes into the match. Adel Mustapha, 39 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. If Mongi Thabet had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 40th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Zoubair El Abidine Ben Ali showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Muhammad Arfa, who was totally free with the ball in the 46th minute. Muhammad Arfa's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Zoubair El Abidine Ben Ali read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 47th minute of play. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 1-1 after a close first half.

52 minutes into the match, Canvey Island's goal looked a bit too open when Mehdi Ben Saidi came free, but Akram Miaâdi reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 54 played minutes Canvey Island got a freekick which was hit by Adel Mokthar. Penzance City's Zoubair El Abidine Ben Ali played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Muhammad Arfa in the 61st minute of play. Mehdi Ben Saidi might have been able to make a better finish in the 62nd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Akram Miaâdi. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Mehdi Ben Saidi ran back to his position shaking his head. When Adel Mokthar fell near the penalty area in the 71st minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Canvey Island's protests and gave Adel Mokthar a yellow card for diving instead. 73 minutes into the match, Mehdi Ben Saidi had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Akram Miaâdi. Canvey Island's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Mehdi Ben Saidi was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-1. Canvey Island's Akram Miaâdi played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Mongi Thabet in the 83rd minute of play. Jemeleddine Abdallah received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 85th minute. Zoubair El Abidine Ben Ali tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Jemeleddine Abdallah sent away a hard shot on goal in the 98th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal.
