After 3 played minutes Maldon got a freekick which was hit by Hedi Sallemi. Abdelaziz Mkacher sent away a hard shot on goal in the 5th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Maldon's Anis El Abidine Ben Ali proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 8th minute of the match, managed to save Maldon from getting a goal against them. A collision led to Maldon getting a freekick after 10 minutes play. Hédi Beya hit a great ball. Maldon's Anis El Abidine Ben Ali played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Walid Khcharem in the 15th minute of play. With a little luck, Maldon's Anis El Abidine Ben Ali got control of the ball when Abdelaziz Mkacher tried to sneak it across the goal line. Jalel Sfar made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ahmed Ammar in the 23rd minute of play. 27 minutes into the game, Maldon's Ahmed Ammar nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Jalel Sfar made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-1. Paulo Bejaoui sent away a hard shot on goal in the 32nd minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. If Walid Khcharem had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 41st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Paulo Bejaoui took the ball and in the 43 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Jalel Sfar. Jalel Sfar dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-2. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 50th minute of the game. One of Keighley AFC:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Maldon:s goal. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-3 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Ahmed Ammar made a kick off. Walid Khcharem charged in rather forcefully in the 58th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Walid Khcharem the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Walid Khcharem kicked well hit freekick during the 59th minute of the match. Keighley AFC's Zoubeir Nafti pulled a muscle in his leg after 72 minutes and couldn't finish the game. If Abdelaziz Mkacher had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 78th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Paulo Bejaoui received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 82nd minute. Jalel Sfar tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 85 minutes into the match, Keighley AFC's goalkeeper Jalel Sfar had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Paulo Bejaoui. In the 92nd match minute, Maldon was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Habib al-Amin to maneuver through the defense. An unexpectedly hard shot by Abdelaziz Mkacher in the 94th minute of play forced Maldon's goalkeeper Anis El Abidine Ben Ali to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After having played for 100 minutes, Paulo Bejaoui managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Maldon's supporters crossed their fingers, but Paulo Bejaoui was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal.
