The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. When Wissem Nouira came up free with the goalie in the 4th minute, the Newcastle-under-Lyme FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Wissem Nouira couldn't finish the play. The supporters of Kenilworth booed when Newcastle-under-Lyme FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 6 match minutes in a wonderful position. Wissem Nouira didn't get a good kick on the ball. Wissem Nouira hit a great freekick 8 minutes into the match. After a rather tough play, Kenilworth's Férid Aziza got a free kick in the 9th minute. If Kameleddine Mestiri had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 10th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After having played for 14 minutes, Slaheddine Baya managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Kenilworth's supporters crossed their fingers, but Slaheddine Baya was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Kameleddine Mestiri in the 17thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Mohamed Boumnijel, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. Mohamed Boumnijel stood somewhat misplaced when Kameleddine Mestiri came free in front of goal and shot 1-0 to the left of him in the 19 minute. Kameleddine Mestiri received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 25th minute. Mohamed Boumnijel tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Newcastle-under-Lyme FC's Wissem Nouira got a good chance for a goal in the 27th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. If Kameleddine Mestiri had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 30th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 32nd minute, Mohamed Saidi hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Ahmed Kefacha showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Sahbi Ben Chikhaoui in the 36th minute of the match. Ahmed Kefacha came out of the goal in the 38th minute to try and stop a shot by Kenilworth's Sahbi Ben Chikhaoui. But to his dismay, Sahbi Ben Chikhaoui quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-1. Slaheddine Baya kicked well hit freekick during the 47th minute of the match.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Kameleddine Mestiri to strike the kick off in the second half. Mohamed Boumnijel took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Wissem Nouira, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Hamdi Jomaa during the 57th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Newcastle-under-Lyme FC's Kameleddine Mestiri got a good chance for a goal in the 58th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Kenilworth's Mohamed Boumnijel played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Wissem Nouira in the 86th minute of play. After 89 played minutes, Kenilworth's Tarak Jelassi shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Ahmed Kefacha came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Kenilworth reached it. Wissem Nouira sent away a hard shot on goal in the 95th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Ahmed Kefacha showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Sahbi Ben Chikhaoui in the 99th minute of the match. Newcastle-under-Lyme FC's supporters were delighted with their team's performance and swarmed onto the pitch at the end of the match to celebrate the victory with the players.
