The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Chokri Benslimane in the 7th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Mohamed El Hadrioui prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Habib Mnari sent away a hard shot on goal in the 9th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 10 minutes of play, Barnsley's Chokri Benslimane made it 0-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Mohamed El Hadrioui was left in no man's land by his defense there! Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Chokri Benslimane in the 15th minute a chance for a shot on goal. Aziz Mabrouk fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 20th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Mohamed Ali M'hadhebi having to interfere. In the 22nd minute, Aziz Mabrouk got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. 26 minutes into the game, Albert Diwa was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Stoneleigh's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Barnsley the free kick. The supporters of Barnsley booed when Stoneleigh was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 26 match minutes in a wonderful position. Albert Diwa didn't get a good kick on the ball. Chokri Benslimane fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 30th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Mohamed El Hadrioui having to interfere. Chokri Benslimane sent away a hard shot on goal in the 32nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 41st minute Chokri Benslimane shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Mohamed El Hadrioui saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When Ahmed Trabelsi fell near the penalty area in the 44th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Stoneleigh's protests and gave Ahmed Trabelsi a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to Stoneleigh getting a freekick after 45 minutes play. Ahmed Trabelsi hit a great ball. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-1 lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Chokri Benslimane to make the kick off. In the 52nd minute, Chokri Benslimane fired away a killer shot towards the goal that, to the delight of Mohamed El Hadrioui , passed just outside the right post. Habib Mnari fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 53rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Mohamed El Hadrioui having to interfere. Mohamed El Hadrioui made an important save on a dangerous shot by Habib Mnari in the 54th minute. If Habib Mnari had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 56th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Chokri Melliti recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 60th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Mohamed El Hadrioui showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Chokri Benslimane , who was totally free with the ball in the 62nd minute. The supporters of Stoneleigh booed when Barnsley was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 63 match minutes in a wonderful position. Chokri Melliti didn't get a good kick on the ball. Habib Mnari scored 0-2 in the 70th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Mohamed El Hadrioui , who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Mohamed Ali M'hadhebi took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Aziz Mabrouk, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Mohamed Ali M'hadhebi showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Mongi Brahem in the 89th minute of the match. A nice corner shot did that Mohamad Ben Salah got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Mohamed Ali M'hadhebi quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. Barnsley's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
