North Shields's Mehdi Boulaabi played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Haythem Hedi Jedidi in the 9th minute of play. Thorpe-le-Soken AFC's Bechir Melliti proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 15th minute of the match, managed to save Thorpe-le-Soken AFC from getting a goal against them. In the 17th minute, Thorpe-le-Soken AFC's Khaled Baya seemed to kick out at an opponent. The referee saw this and, surprisingly, showed Khaled Baya the red card, dismissing him from the pitch. The coaching staff of Thorpe-le-Soken AFC protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Khaled Baya had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. Imed Ouakili sent away a hard shot on goal in the 24th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Hassine Abdeljilil hit a great freekick 25 minutes into the match. Mohamed Chaar sent away a hard shot on goal in the 33rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Hamza Trabelsi in the 35th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Mehdi Boulaabi saved North Shields from getting behind. After a defensive mix-up in North Shields's zone, Hamza Trabelsi stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Mehdi Boulaabi came out of the goal and Hamza Trabelsi tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Hamza Trabelsi received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 40th minute. Mehdi Boulaabi tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 48th minute, North Shields's Zine Ouakili dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 3-1.
The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Zine Ouakili was the one to do the kick off. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Imed Ouakili in the 54th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Bechir Melliti prevented the ball from getting in the gole. After 55 played minutes Thorpe-le-Soken AFC got a freekick which was hit by Taoufik David. Zine Ouakili sent away a hard shot on goal in the 64th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When Caid Tlili fell near the penalty area in the 66th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored North Shields's protests and gave Caid Tlili a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of Thorpe-le-Soken AFC booed when North Shields was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 66 match minutes in a wonderful position. Caid Tlili didn't get a good kick on the ball. Hamza Trabelsi succeeded to score despite a near miss that spronge from right pole into the goal to 3-2 in the 70th playminute. Hamza Trabelsi was really disappointed when he shot the ball just outside the right post instead of scoring a goal in the 76th minute. Thorpe-le-Soken AFC's manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance. Hassine Abdeljilil sent away a hard shot on goal in the 78th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Hamza Trabelsi had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 82nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When Selim Mhedhebi came up free with the goalie in the 85th minute, the Thorpe-le-Soken AFC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Selim Mhedhebi couldn't finish the play. Mehdi Boulaabi made an important save on a dangerous shot by Hamza Trabelsi in the 87th minute. Hamza Trabelsi fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 92nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Mehdi Boulaabi having to interfere. Hamza Trabelsi could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 94th minute of the match, but Mehdi Boulaabi made a huge save. The North Shields players were eager to celebrate when the final whistle sounded. They had somehow managed to win, even though the away team had held the majority of the possession.
