Haroune Ben Dhia recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 18th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. If Radhi Escheikh had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 25th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Radhi Escheikh in the 32nd minute of play forced Shanklin's goalkeeper Ahmed Khemili to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Hamed Jebali struck a weak shot in the 36th minute. Ahmed Khemili didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Rayleigh. Ahmed Khemili made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-1. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-1.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Haroune Ben Dhia made a kick off. Radhi Escheikh sent away a hard shot on goal in the 57th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Karim Hammemi during the 59th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 59th match minute, Rayleigh was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Karim Hammemi to maneuver through the defense. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Radhi Escheikh in the 64th minute a chance for a shot on goal. After some careless play in the Rayleigh defense, Haroune Ben Dhia kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Hedi Bejaoui. The Rayleigh fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Hedi Bejaoui should have stopped the shot. Mahmoud Mestiri hit a great freekick 80 minutes into the match. Hamed Jebali received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 83rd minute. Ahmed Khemili tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. A very good chance. 88 minutes into the game, Rashid Nafti cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-1. Hedi Bejaoui was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. In a very dangerous position, a player in Rayleigh fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 95th minute. Penalty! Hedi Bejaoui went to the wrong direction when Riadh Majeri was taking care of the penalty kick which however missed the goal.
