With a left leg Oussama Ayari saved Canvey Island City from getting behind. Aymen Melliti kicked well hit freekick during the 15th minute of the match. Tarek Clayton fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 17th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Oussama Ayari having to interfere. Aymen Melliti received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 22nd minute. Alaeddine Dhafer tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Sami Karoui's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Alaeddine Dhafer read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 24th minute of play. Alaeddine Dhafer made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Sami Karoui in the 26th minute of play. After 29 played minutes Canvey Island City got a freekick which was hit by Aymen Melliti. When Mehdi Mahouachi fell near the penalty area in the 36th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Ilfracombe AFC's protests and gave Mehdi Mahouachi a yellow card for diving instead. 35 minutes into the game, one of Ilfracombe AFC:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. Sabri Jendoubi shot the penalty kick by force right in the crossbar. No goal. In the 42nd minute, Mehdi Bnouni hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

Canvey Island City's Oussama Ayari played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ayèche Ben Sfar in the 52nd minute of play. Ayèche Ben Sfar succeeded in the game's 54th minute to shoot an unreachable shot under the crossbar and scored - 0-1. In the 60th match minute, Canvey Island City was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Aymen Melliti to maneuver through the defense.
