After having played for 27 minutes, Zied Gtari managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Cottered's supporters crossed their fingers, but Zied Gtari was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Laaroussi Limam's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Habib Karray read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 31st minute of play. After a rather tough play, Cottered's Ferid Nafti got a free kick in the 37th minute. In the 39th minute of the match, Mohamed Bourguiba got a very nice opportunity to score, but Majed Ben Slim was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. When Hamed Benachour fell near the penalty area in the 39th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Cottered's protests and gave Hamed Benachour a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of Richmond booed when Cottered was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 40 match minutes in a wonderful position. Hamed Benachour didn't get a good kick on the ball. After 72 played minutes Richmond got a freekick which was hit by Mohamed Marzouki. If Mohamed Bourguiba had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 76th minute.
