The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. In the 3rd minute, Mourad Khemili made a precise shot to the right of Haykel Cherif. Ashburton United's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-0. If Mohamed Nouira had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 7th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. If Zine Mzali had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 10th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Haworth's Mehdi Ben Belgacem played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Mohamed Ali Haggui in the 14th minute of play. Haykel Cherif made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Mohamed Nouira in the 16th minute of play. After 18 played minutes Ashburton United got a freekick which was hit by Adel M'henni. After some fancy dribbling in the 19th minute, Mourad Khemili managed to get in a good position for a shot. Haworth's supporters rose to their feet, but Mourad Khemili was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Haykel Cherif breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After having played for 20 minutes, Zine Mzali managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Ashburton United's supporters crossed their fingers, but Zine Mzali was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 23 minutes into the match, Haworth's goal looked a bit too open when Zine Mzali came free, but Mehdi Ben Belgacem reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Ashburton United's Haykel Cherif proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 25th minute of the match, managed to save Ashburton United from getting a goal against them. 32 minutes into the game, Mohamed Nouira was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Haworth's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Ashburton United the free kick. Chaouki Ben Hadji kicked well hit freekick during the 34th minute of the match. Hamdi Mosrati took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 36th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Mehdi Ben Belgacem. Haworth's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. If Mourad Khemili had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 38th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When Khaled Boulaabi fell near the penalty area in the 45th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Ashburton United's protests and gave Khaled Boulaabi a yellow card for diving instead. In the 45th match minute, Ashburton United was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Khaled Boulaabi to maneuver through the defense. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 1-1 after a close first half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Zine Mzali stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. 55 minutes into the match, Mohamed Ali Haggui notched a goal, 1-2, to the right of Haworth's Mehdi Ben Belgacem. Mehdi Ben Belgacem was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. 59 minutes into the match, Mohamed Nouira had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Haykel Cherif. Ashburton United's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Mohamed Nouira was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-2. Haykel Cherif made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Mohamed Nouira in the 63rd minute of play. Haworth's Mehdi Ben Belgacem proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 68th minute of the match, managed to save Haworth from getting a goal against them. A collision led to Haworth getting a freekick after 69 minutes play. David Baya hit a great ball. In the 70th minute, Adel M'henni sent off a long shot on goal, but the shot was nowhere near the goal and Haworth's Mehdi Ben Belgacem didn't even have to move. Mohamed Ali Haggui could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 76th minute of the match, but Mehdi Ben Belgacem made a huge save. With an all-out effort, Ashburton United's Mehdi Ben Belgacem threw himself towards the right post 77 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Zine Mzali, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. A collision led to Haworth getting a freekick after 80 minutes play. Hedi Mabrouki hit a great ball. A long shot from Adel M'henni in the 81st minute of play was well struck, but Mehdi Ben Belgacem made a really good save at the right post. Mourad Khemili sent away a hard shot on goal in the 87th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Khaled Boulaabi got his second yellow card in the match during the 91st minute which meant that he had to leave the ground. After 92 played minutes Ashburton United got a freekick which was hit by Khaled Boulaabi. When the final whistle was heard the away supporters stood up and showed their joy. Ashburton United had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
