In the 44th minute the ball was on its way in behind Totley City's goalkeeper Salah Khalifa, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. After the first half Totley City were leading 0-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.
The wind increased when Laaroussi Negrouz made the kick off in the second half. When Laaroussi Negrouz came up free with the goalie in the 51st minute, the Selsey fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Laaroussi Negrouz couldn't finish the play. Nizar Baya struck a weak shot in the 54th minute. Salah Khalifa didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Selsey. Mohamed Bejaoui recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 56th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Selsey's supporters rose to their feet, but Laaroussi Negrouz was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. He was clearly angry that they had squandered their superior possession, allowing Totley City to win.
