In the 25th minute Jemeleddine Saidi shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Atef Yahia saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The audience thought a goal was coming when Férid Baccouche got free with Atef Yahia in the 28th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After 32 played minutes Hunstanton got a freekick which was hit by Hatem Ben Mnari. Amir Mokthar fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 36th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Chaouki Bassir having to interfere. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

Caistor's Atef Yahia played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Férid Baccouche in the 57th minute of play. When Hunstanton's Férid Baccouche in the 64th minute got a chance for a shot 64th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie.
