With his leg Robert McAindra managed to avoid a goal in the 9thth minute, when Lybster's Rory McRuer fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Simon McIndeor's late challenge caught a Lybster's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Simon McIndeor helped the player get up and apologised. After 10 played minutes Dunkeld got a freekick which was hit by Simon McIndeor. 12 minutes into the match, Dunkeld's goalkeeper Robert McAindra had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Rory McRuer. Dean McIan charged in rather forcefully in the 29th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Dean McIan the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After a rather tough play, Lybster's Dean McIan got a free kick in the 30th minute. Gary McLeverty was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. The score stood at 1-1 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Arthur Carstarphen made a kick off.
