Spectators: 36 (Terracing: 28, Seating: 8, VIP seats: 0) The mood of the audience was pleasant when Anthony Norman made the kick off which started today's match. Phillip Murchison sent away a hard shot on goal in the 6th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 8th match minute, Anstruther City was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Aidan McMurdoch to maneuver through the defense. Edmond McGeachie acted impressively in front of the goal and made a superb save when he, in the 9th minute, took the ball on the long shot from Terry McMichael. An unexpectedly hard shot by Anthony Norman in the 10th minute of play forced Anstruther City's goalkeeper Edmond McGeachie to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After having played for 12 minutes, Phillip Murchison managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Dunblane's supporters crossed their fingers, but Phillip Murchison was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. A collision led to Dunblane getting a freekick after 14 minutes play. John Cavanagh hit a great ball. 15 minutes into the game, Nicky Constable cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-1. Kevin Tonnochy was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. The supporters of Anstruther City booed when Dunblane was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 23 match minutes in a wonderful position. Guy McGhee didn't get a good kick on the ball. When James Gilespie came up free with the goalie in the 26th minute, the Anstruther City fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that James Gilespie couldn't finish the play. After some careless play in the Dunblane defense, Nicky Constable kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Kevin Tonnochy. The Dunblane fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Kevin Tonnochy should have stopped the shot. In the 36th minute Matt McCammon suffered a thigh injury and had to be helped off the field. The supporters of Dunblane booed when Anstruther City was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 37 match minutes in a wonderful position. Aidan McMurdoch didn't get a good kick on the ball. Ryan Burk kicked well hit freekick during the 38th minute of the match. Kevin Tonnochy stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of James Gilespie's shot from short distance in the 39th minute. After some fancy dribbling in the 41st minute, Andy Turner managed to get in a good position for a shot. Anstruther City's supporters rose to their feet, but Andy Turner was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Kevin Tonnochy breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Kevin Tonnochy stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of James Gilespie's shot from short distance in the 45th minute. James Gilespie fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 46th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Kevin Tonnochy having to interfere. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-2 lead.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and James Gilespie made a kick off. If John Cavanagh had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 52nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Nicky Constable received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 69th minute. Kevin Tonnochy tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The crowd rose to their feet as James Gilespie kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Kevin Tonnochy. That made the score 0-3 in the 73 minute of play. Ricky McGrewar fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 79th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Kevin Tonnochy having to interfere. 81 minutes into the game, Dunblane's Phillip Murchison nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Edmond McGeachie made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-3. With a little luck, Dunblane's Kevin Tonnochy got control of the ball when Ricky McGrewar tried to sneak it across the goal line. After some fancy dribbling in the 88th minute, Nicky Constable managed to get in a good position for a shot. Anstruther City's supporters rose to their feet, but Nicky Constable was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Kevin Tonnochy breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 91st minute, Phillip Murchison ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Edmond McGeachie was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-3. Kevin Tonnochy came out of the goal in the 96th minute to try and stop a shot by Anstruther City's Nicky Constable. But to his dismay, Nicky Constable quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-4. The Anstruther City supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Anstruther City would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
