Seating: 8, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. James Gilespie started the match with the kick off. Dean Borthwick sent away a hard shot on goal in the 7th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Dean Borthwick struck a weak shot in the 9th minute. Edmond McGeachie didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Dunkeld. Robert McAindra showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Nicky Constable, who was totally free with the ball in the 14th minute. Andy Daniels was astounded when the referee showed him the red card after a seemingly innocent challenge, 17 minutes into the match. After 16 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Anstruther City! Luke McFarquhar received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 21st minute. Edmond McGeachie tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Nicky Constable's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Robert McAindra read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 26th minute of play. In the 27th minute, Dean Borthwick got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Edmond McGeachie stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Dean Borthwick's shot from short distance in the 31st minute. Luke McFarquhar recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 35th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Luke McFarquhar fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 47th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Edmond McGeachie having to interfere.
Dunkeld's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Davie Beath in the 53rd minute. A nice corner shot did that Davie Beath got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Edmond McGeachie quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. Dunkeld's Dean Borthwick got a good chance for a goal in the 55th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Nicky Constable fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 59th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Robert McAindra having to interfere. Billy McRaith hit a great freekick 61 minutes into the match. 68 minutes into the game, Dunkeld's Dean Borthwick nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Edmond McGeachie made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-0. After a defensive mix-up in Anstruther City's zone, Dean Borthwick stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Edmond McGeachie came out of the goal and Dean Borthwick tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Anstruther City's Edmond McGeachie played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ronan McIver in the 95th minute of play. Dunkeld walked away with a well-earned victory that was much celebrated by the crowd.
