Patrick McCuag took the ball and in the 11 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Adrian McCrouther. Adrian McCrouther dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-0. Alan Gregorson kicked well hit freekick during the 13th minute of the match. The audience was convinced that Ivan McCall's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Mark Collins was relentless in the 15th minute of the game. Paddy O'Shaig kicked well hit freekick during the 16th minute of the match. In the 17th minute, Henry Bryce hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 18th minute of the match Rupert McGorry shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Mark Collins showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. 25 minutes into the game, Eyemouth City's Ian Cobb nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Mark Collins made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 3-1. Mark Collins showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ian Cobb in the 31st minute of the match. In the 32nd minute Ivan McCall shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Mark Collins saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. With a left leg Adrian McCrouther saved Eyemouth City from getting behind. 56 minutes into the match, Leith United's goalkeeper Mark Collins had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Ivan McCall. Adrian McCrouther stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Graeme Fleming's shot from short distance in the 59th minute. When Patrick McCuag came up free with the goalie in the 60th minute, the Leith United fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Patrick McCuag couldn't finish the play. Adrian McCrouther made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Graeme Fleming in the 62nd minute of play. After a rather tough play, Leith United's Tam Clarkson got a free kick in the 62nd minute. The supporters of Leith United booed when Eyemouth City was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 68 match minutes in a wonderful position. Alan Gardiner didn't get a good kick on the ball. Ivan McCall who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 77thth minute tested the skills of Mark Collins when he managed to save the team from getting behind. The Leith United fans' excitement grew in the 85th match minute when Leith United's Graeme Fleming looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 5-1 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. When Alan Gardiner fell near the penalty area in the 91st minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Eyemouth City's protests and gave Alan Gardiner a yellow card for diving instead. Leith United's supporters crossed their fingers, but Graeme Fleming was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 95th minute, Billy Pollard hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Ivan McCall's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Mark Collins firmly grabbed it by the left post. There were very few away supporters still in the ground by the end of the match. Most of them had left early, disgusted by the way their team had been torn apart. Leith United fully deserved thier win.
