Ian Beresford took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Grant Sinclair, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Gordon's Ian Beresford proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 15th minute of the match, managed to save Gordon from getting a goal against them. Peter McEachin received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 18th minute. Ian Beresford tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Grant Sinclair struck a weak shot in the 19th minute. Ian Beresford didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Dalbeattie City. Dalbeattie City's supporters crossed their fingers, but Liam McBeth was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Jim Duffus kicked well hit freekick during the 35th minute of the match. After some fancy dribbling in the 39th minute, Phil McGilvra managed to get in a good position for a shot. Gordon's supporters rose to their feet, but Phil McGilvra was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Ronald O'Shannaig breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Raymond McRa received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 42nd minute. Ian Beresford tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Grant Sinclair was the one to do the kick off. If Liam McBeth had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 54th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Gordon's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Dalbeattie City the free kick. Lucas Adkins kicked well hit freekick during the 96th minute of the match. In the 97th minute Liam McBeth shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ian Beresford saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. There were very few away supporters still in the ground by the end of the match. Most of them had left early, disgusted by the way their team had been torn apart. Dalbeattie City fully deserved thier win.
