Seating: 8, VIP seats: 0) Grangemouth's Phillip Comine started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. After a rather tough play, Strathaven's Ronald Tawse got a free kick in the 2nd minute. If Jordan Kilgour had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 4th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Steven McMurray made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Jordan Kilgour in the 10th minute of play. Phillip Comine received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 13th minute. Steven McMurray tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After 16 minutes, Lewis McRury mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Strathaven and the Grangemouth players grew even worse after the yellow card. Phillip Comine scored 0-2 in the 30th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Steven McMurray, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. 33 minutes into the match, Grangemouth's goal looked a bit too open when Kevin Esson came free, but Liam McCririe reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Phillip Comine took the ball and in the 36 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Steven McMurray. Kevin Esson sent away a hard shot on goal in the 41st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Kevin Esson made a kick off. Liam McCririe took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Alisdair Carrigan, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Phillip Comine showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-4. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched Grangemouth eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
