Mark McKimmie took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Wal McCamie, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Mark McKimmie showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Roy Lombard, who was totally free with the ball in the 10th minute. A collision led to Westhill getting a freekick after 11 minutes play. Gus McNee hit a great ball. Jake Blake showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Quentin Hay in the 13th minute of the match. Jake Blake made a fantastic save in the 14th minute, when Drew McFie sent off a good shot on target. After a defensive mix-up in Stromness's zone, Wal McCamie stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Mark McKimmie came out of the goal and Wal McCamie tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 17th minute Wal McCamie shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Mark McKimmie saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When Wal McCamie came up free with the goalie in the 20th minute, the Westhill fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Wal McCamie couldn't finish the play. Roy Lombard recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 22nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After a defensive mix-up in Westhill's zone, Drew McFie stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Jake Blake came out of the goal and Drew McFie tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 29 minutes into the match, Stromness's goal looked a bit too open when Roy Lombard came free, but Mark McKimmie reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Roy Lombard in the 31st minute of play forced Stromness's goalkeeper Mark McKimmie to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Archie Ellis struck a weak shot in the 38th minute. Jake Blake didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Stromness. Wal McCamie fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 42nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Mark McKimmie having to interfere. Drew McFie received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 44th minute. Jake Blake tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After some careless play in the Stromness defense, Wal McCamie kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Mark McKimmie. The Stromness fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Mark McKimmie should have stopped the shot. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-1.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Quentin Hay made a kick off. In the 54th minute the ball was on its way in behind Westhill's goalkeeper Jake Blake, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Stromness were awarded a corner in the 60th minute after Westhill's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Dylan McKinven took the corner. A nice corner shot did that Rupert Basnett got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Jake Blake quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. In the 61st minute, Gus McNee hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Jake Blake made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Drew McFie in the 63rd minute of play. A collision led to Westhill getting a freekick after 68 minutes play. Evan Begg hit a great ball. 71 minutes had been played when some careless play by Westhill's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Dylan McKinven was slow to take the kick. During this time Stromness's players had a chance to rest. An unexpectedly hard shot by Wal McCamie in the 74th minute of play forced Stromness's goalkeeper Mark McKimmie to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Wal McCamie sent away a hard shot on goal in the 75th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Drew McFie fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 78th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jake Blake having to interfere. The supporters of Stromness booed when Westhill was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 84 match minutes in a wonderful position. Shaun McCalman didn't get a good kick on the ball. When the final whistle was heard the away supporters stood up and showed their joy. Westhill had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
