Spectators: 36 (Terracing: 28, Seating: 8, VIP seats: 0) The field was rather wet after several days of rain when Iain McAskill took the kick off in the first half of the match. Wayne Adamson received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 3rd minute. Eddie Ashmore tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 5th minute, Reece McIldowie got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Wayne Adamson in the 8th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Eddie Ashmore saved Lochgelly United from getting behind. The supporters of Skelmorlie booed when Lochgelly United was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 8 match minutes in a wonderful position. Troy McWhannell didn't get a good kick on the ball. Eddie Ashmore showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Reece McIldowie, who was totally free with the ball in the 9th minute. Innes McNuir recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 14th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. When Innes McNuir came up free with the goalie in the 19th minute, the Lochgelly United fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Innes McNuir couldn't finish the play. After a defensive mix-up in Lochgelly United's zone, Marc Baird stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Eddie Ashmore came out of the goal and Marc Baird tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The supporters of Lochgelly United booed when Skelmorlie was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 28 match minutes in a wonderful position. Murray McGrath didn't get a good kick on the ball. Iain McAskill received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 30th minute. Terry McAngus tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 32nd minute Reece McIldowie shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Eddie Ashmore saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Norman Roy during the 35th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Norman Roy kicked well hit freekick during the 35th minute of the match. If Innes McNuir had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 46th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The score stood at 0-0 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Wayne Adamson to make the kick off. Innes McNuir received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 65th minute. Terry McAngus tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Marc Baird charged in rather forcefully in the 67th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Marc Baird the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Marc Baird kicked well hit freekick during the 67th minute of the match. Eddie McMath took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 68th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Terry McAngus. Skelmorlie's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Innes McNuir sent away a hard shot on goal in the 69th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Innes McNuir struck a weak shot in the 78th minute. Terry McAngus didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Lochgelly United. Iain McAskill took the ball and in the 80 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Terry McAngus. Terry McAngus dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-1. A collision led to Lochgelly United getting a freekick after 85 minutes play. Troy McWhannell hit a great ball. A hard shot by Andrew Purcell from long distance, 86 minutes into the match, got Eddie Ashmore's attention. Through a fast twist with his body, he could stop the ball from going in on his right side. 88 minutes into the match, Lochgelly United's goalkeeper Eddie Ashmore had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Reece McIldowie. 95 minutes into the match, Lochgelly United's goal looked a bit too open when Wayne Adamson came free, but Eddie Ashmore reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. A collision led to Lochgelly United getting a freekick after 96 minutes play. Troy McWhannell hit a great ball. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Lochgelly United fans cheered their team off the field, for while Skelmorlie had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
