Spectators: 36 (Terracing: 28, Seating: 8, VIP seats: 0) The mood of the audience was pleasant when John McWhannell made the kick off which started today's match. Lochboisdale's Martin Williamson proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 4th minute of the match, managed to save Lochboisdale from getting a goal against them. In the 5th match minute, Lochboisdale was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Vincent Blair to maneuver through the defense. Eddie Ashmore made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Matt Farquharson in the 18th minute of play. After 24 minutes of play, Lochboisdale's John McWhannell made it 0-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Eddie Ashmore was left in no man's land by his defense there! When Innes McNuir came up free with the goalie in the 28th minute, the Lochgelly United fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Innes McNuir couldn't finish the play. A collision led to Lochboisdale getting a freekick after 34 minutes play. Guy Simson hit a great ball. Guy Simson hit a great freekick 39 minutes into the match. John McWhannell sent away a hard shot on goal in the 42nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Derek McWalrick kicked well hit freekick during the 47th minute of the match. After the first half Lochboisdale were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The wind increased when Iain McAskill made the kick off in the second half. Lochboisdale's Matt Farquharson was standing unmarked in front of the goal when he, in the 58th play minute, got the ball and easily drilled it into the goal. Iain McAskill's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Martin Williamson read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 63rd minute of play. Iain McAskill recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 67th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Matt Farquharson could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 76th minute of the match, but Eddie Ashmore made a huge save. Matt Farquharson blasted a shot towards the goal in the 78th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Eddie Ashmore having to make a save. In the 80th minute John McWhannell shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Eddie Ashmore saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Lochgelly United's Eddie Ashmore played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by John McWhannell in the 82nd minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by John McWhannell in the 86th minute of play forced Lochgelly United's goalkeeper Eddie Ashmore to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 98 minutes into the match, Lochgelly United's goal looked a bit too open when John McWhannell came free, but Eddie Ashmore reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by John McWhannell in the 99th minute of play forced Lochgelly United's goalkeeper Eddie Ashmore to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The Lochboisdale supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Lochboisdale would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
