Spectators: 35 (Terracing: 27, Seating: 8, VIP seats: 0) The field was rather wet after several days of rain when Eric Cavanagh took the kick off in the first half of the match. Kenneth Crum took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Keith Conlon, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. David Hutchenson fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 7th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Walter McCaig having to interfere. Blair Hutchison charged in rather forcefully in the 9th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Blair Hutchison the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After 9 played minutes Stornoway FC got a freekick which was hit by Blair Hutchison. Eric Cavanagh sent away a hard shot on goal in the 12th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Kenneth Crum came out of the goal in the 14th minute to try and stop a shot by Lossiemouth's Eric Cavanagh. But to his dismay, Eric Cavanagh quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. In the 17th match minute, Stornoway FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Edward Carstarphen to maneuver through the defense. Walter McCaig made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ross Collier in the 20th minute of play. After a rather tough play, Stornoway FC's Blair Hutchison got a free kick in the 25th minute. 34 minutes into the match, Stornoway FC's Ross Collier sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Walter McCaig narrowly saved just below the crossbar. 36 minutes into the game, Ross Collier recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Walter McCaig. Ross Collier showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-1. Eric Cavanagh sent away a hard shot on goal in the 41st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 1-1 after a close first half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Ross Collier stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. In the 54th minute Stornoway FC were awarded a corner. Edward Carstarphen went to the cornerflag to take it. After taking down the ball on Stornoway FC's corner Edward Carstarphen fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Walter McCaig quite easily take care of the ball. If Blair Hutchison had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 56th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Walter McCaig showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from David Hutchenson, who was totally free with the ball in the 59th minute. After having played for 70 minutes, David Hutchenson managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Stornoway FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but David Hutchenson was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 72 minutes into the match, Lossiemouth's goal looked a bit too open when Ross Collier came free, but Walter McCaig reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. David Hutchenson fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 77th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Walter McCaig having to interfere. David Hutchenson recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 80th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Ross Collier sent away a hard shot on goal in the 81st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 88th minute, one of Lossiemouth:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Lossiemouth. In the 98th minute, Keith Conlon got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Stornoway FC were really happy, having secured the victory after a very even contest. They thanked the players of Lossiemouth for a fine match.
