The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. The audience was convinced that Walter McCrain's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Roddie McGrory was relentless in the 24th minute of the game. Irvin McKintosh fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 28th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ewan Donlevy having to interfere. A collision led to Fraserburgh getting a freekick after 29 minutes play. Raymond McFie hit a great ball. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Walter McCrain made a kick off. In the 51st minute, Timmy GruaMcH hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After having played for 52 minutes, William Stringer managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Lochearnhead United's supporters crossed their fingers, but William Stringer was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After some fancy dribbling in the 63rd minute, Irvin McKintosh managed to get in a good position for a shot. Fraserburgh's supporters rose to their feet, but Irvin McKintosh was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Ewan Donlevy breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After 67 minutes of play, Fraserburgh's Irvin McKintosh made it 1-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Ewan Donlevy was left in no man's land by his defense there! William Stringer sent away a hard shot on goal in the 74th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 77th minute Irvin McKintosh shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ewan Donlevy saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The Lochearnhead United fans' excitement grew in the 78th match minute when Lochearnhead United's Walter McCrain looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 1-1 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. In the 84th minute Raymond McCaa shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ewan Donlevy saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. William Stringer blasted a shot towards the goal in the 87th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Roddie McGrory having to make a save. Irvin McKintosh sent away a hard shot on goal in the 96th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Neither set of supporters seemed pleased with the draw, but both teams had played equally well today.
