Spectators: 35 (Terracing: 27, Seating: 8, VIP seats: 0) Angus Gilroy made the kick off and thus started the match. After 5 minutes, Blair Spittel mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Wick United and the Strathdon United players grew even worse after the yellow card. After a defensive mix-up in Wick United's zone, Angus Gilroy stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Stewart Clarkson came out of the goal and Angus Gilroy tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Angus Gilroy received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 16th minute. Stewart Clarkson tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The crowd rose to their feet as Roddie McDade kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Murray McEachin. That made the score 1-1 in the 21 minute of play. If Alan Gemmil had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 24th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. If Angus Gilroy had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 28th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. When Roddie McDade came up free with the goalie in the 37th minute, the Wick United fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Roddie McDade couldn't finish the play. After 43 played minutes Strathdon United got a freekick which was hit by Ray McCash. Brian McConnechys short, quick shot in the 44thth minute got Murray McEachin to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. 46 minutes into the match, Wick United's goal looked a bit too open when Ray McCash came free, but Stewart Clarkson reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 47th minute, Steven McDaid hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 48th minute of the match Ray McCaskill sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Stewart Clarkson skillfully saved the ball.

The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Billy Walters during the 55th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Billy Walters hit a great freekick 56 minutes into the match. Murray McEachin showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Roddie McDade, who was totally free with the ball in the 59th minute. In the 60th minute, Angus Gilroy got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Ray McCash charged in rather forcefully in the 64th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Ray McCash the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The supporters of Wick United booed when Strathdon United was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 64 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ray McCash didn't get a good kick on the ball. Brian McConnechy fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 65th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Murray McEachin having to interfere. In the 71st minute the ball was on its way in behind Wick United's goalkeeper Stewart Clarkson, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Wick United's Stewart Clarkson proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 72nd minute of the match, managed to save Wick United from getting a goal against them. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Angus Gilroy in the 73rd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Stewart Clarkson prevented the ball from getting in the gole. With a little luck, Wick United's Stewart Clarkson got control of the ball when Alan Gemmil tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 78th minute, Alan Gemmil reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Stewart Clarkson. The goal made the score 1-2. After a rather tough play, Strathdon United's Ray McCash got a free kick in the 81st minute. The supporters of Strathdon United booed when Wick United was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 89 match minutes in a wonderful position. Nigel Adie didn't get a good kick on the ball. When Ray McCaskill came up free with the goalie in the 90th minute, the Strathdon United fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Ray McCaskill couldn't finish the play. Alan Gemmil fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 100th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Stewart Clarkson having to interfere.
