After having played for 5 minutes, David Hudson managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Cairndow AFC's supporters crossed their fingers, but David Hudson was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Wally Rome kicked well hit freekick during the 11th minute of the match. In the 12th minute of the match Declan Elder sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but John McCune skillfully saved the ball. Cairndow AFC's John McCune played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Robert McGugan in the 14th minute of play. After a defensive mix-up in Paisley's zone, Robert McCombich stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Ben McVurich came out of the goal and Robert McCombich tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. If David Hudson had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 29th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Ben McVurich took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from David Hudson, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. A collision led to Paisley getting a freekick after 34 minutes play. Rory Yuill hit a great ball. In the 40th minute David Hudson shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ben McVurich saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Paisley's Ben McVurich played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by David Hudson in the 43rd minute of play. Cairndow AFC were awarded a corner in the 47th minute after Paisley's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Sid McGreusich took the corner. Cairndow AFC's Sid McGreusich was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Ben McVurich in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 1-0.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell David Hudson to make the kick off. After 51 played minutes Cairndow AFC got a freekick which was hit by Tim Foulis. 2-0 became the score in the 54th minute when Robert McGugan elegantly shot the ball into goal just under the crossbar. Declan Elder hit a great freekick 61 minutes into the match. In the 63rd minute the ball was on its way in behind Paisley's goalkeeper Ben McVurich, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. In the 70th minute, Harry Connelly hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 73 minutes into the game, Paisley's Robert McGugan nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. John McCune made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 3-0. Innes McCloy sent away a hard shot on goal in the 77th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Cairndow AFC's John McCune played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Robert McGugan in the 79th minute of play. In the 84th minute the ball was on its way in behind Cairndow AFC's goalkeeper John McCune, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Robert McGugan sent away a hard shot on goal in the 87th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. John McCune made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Robert McGugan in the 89th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Innes McCloy in the 92nd minute of play forced Cairndow AFC's goalkeeper John McCune to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Robert McGugan received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 96th minute. John McCune tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Paisley were really happy, having secured the victory after a very even contest. They thanked the players of Cairndow AFC for a fine match.
