Spectators: 37 (Terracing: 29, Seating: 8, VIP seats: 0) It was fairly windy and cold on the field when Les Summers kicked off to start the match. The audience was convinced that Les Summers's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Miles Kendrick was relentless in the 3rd minute of the game. After a rather tough play, Shotts's Tommy McCombie got a free kick in the 12th minute. After 15 minutes, Paddy Forest mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Shotts and the Tayport AFC players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 15th match minute, Shotts was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Paddy Forest to maneuver through the defense. If Les Summers had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 19th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 26th minute Euan Limond shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ross McNeil saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The corner ended in Elliot Borthwick almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Tayport AFC's Ross McNeil did a great save. In the 30th minute Les Summers shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Miles Kendrick saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Miles Kendrick showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Les Summers, who was totally free with the ball in the 31st minute. In the 33rd minute, Shotts's Euan Limond dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 1-0. When Gary Clarkson fell near the penalty area in the 41st minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Tayport AFC's protests and gave Gary Clarkson a yellow card for diving instead. After 41 played minutes Tayport AFC got a freekick which was hit by Gary Clarkson. After having played for 43 minutes, Quentin McKelvie managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Shotts's supporters crossed their fingers, but Quentin McKelvie was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Eddie Johnston sent away a hard shot on goal in the 47th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Tayport AFC's Fraser McCalman pulled a muscle in his back after 47 minutes and couldn't finish the game. When Darius McLerie fell near the penalty area in the 48th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Shotts's protests and gave Darius McLerie a yellow card for diving instead. Darius McLerie hit a great freekick 49 minutes into the match. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 1-0.

Quentin McKelvie struck a weak shot in the 53rd minute. Ross McNeil didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Shotts. Ross McNeil stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Euan Limond's shot from short distance in the 55th minute. In the 56th minute, Tom Allan hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Quentin McKelvie received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 58th minute. Ross McNeil tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 60th match minute, Shotts was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Tommy Drysdale to maneuver through the defense. Les Summers struck a weak shot in the 62nd minute. Miles Kendrick didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Tayport AFC. Joe Combie could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 64th minute of the match, but Miles Kendrick made a huge save. Billy Enrick hit a great freekick 66 minutes into the match. Euan Limond sent away a hard shot on goal in the 84th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After a defensive mix-up in Tayport AFC's zone, Euan Limond stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Ross McNeil came out of the goal and Euan Limond tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Quentin McKelvie received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 92nd minute. Ross McNeil tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Euan Limond recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 98th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Tayport AFC's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
