Spectators: 38 (Terracing: 29, Seating: 9, VIP seats: 0) The field was rather wet after several days of rain when Innes Gillies took the kick off in the first half of the match. Innes Gillies received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 3rd minute. Dougal McIlvain tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. A collision led to Kilmacolm getting a freekick after 5 minutes play. Tyler Blackburn hit a great ball. Dougal McIlvain took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Innes Gillies, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Innes Gillies might have been able to make a better finish in the 9th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Dougal McIlvain. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Innes Gillies ran back to his position shaking his head. Oliver McConacher fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 14th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Dougal McIlvain having to interfere. Dougal McIlvain showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Oliver McConacher, who was totally free with the ball in the 26th minute. In the 31st minute, Innes Gillies ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Dougal McIlvain was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-2. Robert Smith made an important save on a dangerous shot by Samuel Byers in the 34th minute. Neil Mitchell received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 38th minute. Dougal McIlvain tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When Iain McCuag fell near the penalty area in the 45th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Kilmacolm's protests and gave Iain McCuag a yellow card for diving instead.

Dougal McIlvain made an important save on a dangerous shot by Oliver McConacher in the 53rd minute. The audience thought a goal was coming when Oliver McConacher got free with Dougal McIlvain in the 61st minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 62nd minute, Iain McCuag hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 72nd minute Innes Gillies shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Dougal McIlvain saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 81 minutes into the game, Kilmacolm's Edmond Mason nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Robert Smith made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-2. After a defensive mix-up in Kilmacolm's zone, Innes Gillies stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Dougal McIlvain came out of the goal and Innes Gillies tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play.
