When Innes Gillies came up free with the goalie in the 43rd minute, the Penicuik United fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Innes Gillies couldn't finish the play. After a rather tough play, Leviathans's Jake Ainslie got a free kick in the 44th minute. When Oliver McConacher fell near the penalty area in the 48th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Penicuik United's protests and gave Oliver McConacher a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of Leviathans booed when Penicuik United was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 48 match minutes in a wonderful position. Oliver McConacher didn't get a good kick on the ball. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Innes Gillies was the one to do the kick off. Oliver McConacher sent away a hard shot on goal in the 55th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Tobiasz Kempka showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Innes Gillies, who was totally free with the ball in the 59th minute. After some fancy dribbling in the 60th minute, Ronaldo Ronaldo managed to get in a good position for a shot. Leviathans's supporters rose to their feet, but Ronaldo Ronaldo was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Robert Smith breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. If Robin McCorkle had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 69th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 71 played minutes Leviathans got a freekick which was hit by Lee Hutchison. After a rather tough play, Penicuik United's Innes Gillies got a free kick in the 77th minute. Greig Goudie kicked well hit freekick during the 80th minute of the match. After 81 played minutes, Penicuik United's Stephen Peterkin shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Tobiasz Kempka came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Penicuik United reached it. The supporters of Leviathans booed when Penicuik United was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 82 match minutes in a wonderful position. Innes Gillies didn't get a good kick on the ball. 85 minutes into the match, Jamie McIlvrae notched a goal, 0-1, to the right of Penicuik United's Robert Smith. Robert Smith was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Leviathans's Tobiasz Kempka played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Innes Gillies in the 89th minute of play. Oliver McConacher sent away a hard shot on goal in the 90th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The second half was just like the first, even and exciting. The match ended in a draw.
