Seating: 9, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Alisdair Aitcheson started the match with the kick off. Alisdair Aitcheson kicked well hit freekick during the 2nd minute of the match. After 3 minutes, Innes Vass made it 0-1 with a short kick to the right side. Peebles's Wally McKichan tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. Malcolm McArthur made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Alisdair Aitcheson in the 9th minute of play. Ross McPhadden fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 14th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Wally McKichan having to interfere. In the 15th match minute, Peebles was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Irvin Fairbairn to maneuver through the defense. Innes Vass received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 17th minute. Wally McKichan tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Innes Vass sent away a hard shot on goal in the 19th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Wally McKichan made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ross McPhadden in the 20th minute of play. Wally McKichan showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ross McPhadden, who was totally free with the ball in the 22nd minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ross McPhadden in the 24th minute of play forced Peebles's goalkeeper Wally McKichan to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The audience thought a goal was coming when Timmy McLean got free with Malcolm McArthur in the 30th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Wally McKichan made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ross McPhadden in the 36th minute of play. Innes Vass received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 38th minute. Wally McKichan tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After a defensive mix-up in Peebles's zone, Ross McPhadden stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Wally McKichan came out of the goal and Ross McPhadden tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Innes Vass received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 43rd minute. Wally McKichan tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Disappointed in the 0-1 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.
When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Ross McPhadden made a kick off. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Jeremy Grier during the 51st minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After a rather tough play, Peebles's Jeremy Grier got a free kick in the 51st minute. In the 54th minute, Ross McPhadden reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Wally McKichan. The goal made the score 0-2. Timmy McLean sent away a hard shot on goal in the 58th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Innes Vass could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 66th minute of the match, but Wally McKichan made a huge save. Ross McPhadden sent away a hard shot on goal in the 69th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 71 played minutes Peebles got a freekick which was hit by Theo McHugh. Aboyne AFC's Ross McPhadden got a good chance for a goal in the 76th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. A collision led to Peebles getting a freekick after 77 minutes play. Roddie McAldonich hit a great ball. A collision led to Peebles getting a freekick after 83 minutes play. Grant Jones hit a great ball. Peebles's Wally McKichan played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Nicholas McGruder in the 85th minute of play. Ross McPhadden recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 95th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The Peebles supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching Aboyne AFC's performance. The match ended with a win for Aboyne AFC.
