An unexpectedly hard shot by Lloyd Donnellson in the 13th minute of play forced Aboyne AFC's goalkeeper Malcolm McArthur to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 15 minutes into the match, Aboyne AFC's goal looked a bit too open when Tam Brebner came free, but Malcolm McArthur reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Malcolm McArthur dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-1. Lloyd Donnellson took the ball and in the 42 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Malcolm McArthur. The wind increased when Ross McPhadden made the kick off in the second half. Aboyne AFC's Malcolm McArthur proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 61st minute of the match, managed to save Aboyne AFC from getting a goal against them. Malcolm McArthur came out of the goal and Lloyd Donnellson tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The audience was convinced that Lloyd Donnellson's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Malcolm McArthur was relentless in the 87th minute of the game. Lloyd Donnellson sent away a hard shot on goal in the 95th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance.
