Spectators: 36 (Terracing: 28, Seating: 8, VIP seats: 0) Daniel McVeagh started the match with the kick off in front of an excited audience. Andy Cross's late challenge caught a Fireverm's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Andy Cross helped the player get up and apologised. A collision led to Banff getting a freekick after 8 minutes play. Andy Cross hit a great ball. In the 11th minute, Colin McPhedran ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Barry McGhee was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-1. 16 minutes into the match, Banff's goal looked a bit too open when Daniel McVeagh came free, but Marc Wheelan reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Marc Wheelan made an important save on a dangerous shot by Gary Dyson in the 17th minute. In the 26th minute, one of Fireverm:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Fireverm. 33 minutes into the match, Fireverm's goal looked a bit too open when Vinny Frissell came free, but Barry McGhee reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Barry McGhee came out of the goal in the 33rd minute to try and stop a shot by Banff's Vinny Frissell. But to his dismay, Vinny Frissell quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-3. 39 minutes into the match, Vinny Frissell had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Barry McGhee. Fireverm's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Vinny Frissell was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-4. Fireverm's Daniel McVeagh got a good chance for a goal in the 44th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Gary Dyson fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 48th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Marc Wheelan having to interfere.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Vinny Frissell to strike the kick off in the second half. Barry McGhee made an important save on a dangerous shot by Colin McPhedran in the 53rd minute. If Gary Dyson had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 57th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Daniel McVeagh received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 60th minute. Marc Wheelan tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 65th minute, Andy Cross hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Vinny Frissell might have been able to make a better finish in the 73rd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Barry McGhee. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Vinny Frissell ran back to his position shaking his head. An unexpectedly hard shot by Daniel McVeagh in the 75th minute of play forced Banff's goalkeeper Marc Wheelan to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 77th minute, Michael McCutcheon hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Vinny Frissell sent away a hard shot on goal in the 85th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Colin McPhedran received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 93rd minute. Barry McGhee tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 96th minute the ball was on its way in behind Banff's goalkeeper Marc Wheelan, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. In the 96th match minute, Banff was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Bruce Finlayson to maneuver through the defense. Banff's supporters were very happy and cheered loudly because their team had won after a very close match.
