Gordon Grieve tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When Matthew Gregory came up free with the goalie in the 11th minute, the Wishaw fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Matthew Gregory couldn't finish the play. In the 14th minute, Charlie Ronaldson got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 15th minute, Guy Scott got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Nicol McKilligan made a fantastic save in the 31st minute, when Fergus Cessford sent off a good shot on target. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Matthew Gregory in the 40th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Gordon Grieve prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Guy Scott fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 42nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Gordon Grieve having to interfere. When Matthew Gregory came up free with the goalie in the 43rd minute, the Wishaw fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Matthew Gregory couldn't finish the play. Gordon Grieve took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Matthew Gregory, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Af the end of the first half the score was 1-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Lee Doles was the one to do the kick off. Nicol McKilligan showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Lee Doles, who was totally free with the ball in the 53rd minute. A collision led to Gorebridge getting a freekick after 56 minutes play. Vinny Moodie hit a great ball. In the 57th minute of the match Nicky Polson sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Gordon Grieve skillfully saved the ball. Matthew Gregory who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 62ndth minute tested the skills of Gordon Grieve when he managed to save the team from getting behind. With a little luck, Gorebridge's Gordon Grieve got control of the ball when Matthew Gregory tried to sneak it across the goal line. Gordon Grieve came out of the goal in the 68th minute to try and stop a shot by Wishaw's Guy Scott. But to his dismay, Guy Scott quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-1. In the 73rd minute, Matthew Gregory fired away a shot on goal. He put a little to much spin on the ball and sent it just wide of the right post. After having played for 80 minutes, Guy Scott managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Wishaw's supporters crossed their fingers, but Guy Scott was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Ron McLeay charged in rather forcefully in the 89th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Ron McLeay the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The supporters of Wishaw booed when Gorebridge was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 89 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ron McLeay didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 92nd minute Matthew Gregory shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Gordon Grieve saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 94 minutes into the match, Gorebridge's goal looked a bit too open when Matthew Gregory came free, but Gordon Grieve reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Gorebridge's defense didn't have a chance, in the 96th minute, when Matthew Gregory scored to the left of an out of position Gordon Grieve, making the score, 1-3. When the final whistle sounded Wishaw left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than Gorebridge.
