Seating: 9, VIP seats: 0) The mood of the audience was pleasant when Martin King made the kick off which started today's match. 4 minutes in the game, Ray Bruce fired away an excellent shot, which passed to the side of the right post without Benjamin Duncanson having to interfere. With his leg Benjamin Duncanson managed to avoid a goal in the 6thth minute, when Newcastleton FC's Conor McBurie fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Fraser Milne during the 11th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 11th match minute, Newcastleton FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Fraser Milne to maneuver through the defense. After recieving a nice pass, Cairndow City's Ray Denune tried to score from far away in the 12th minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. After 17 played minutes Newcastleton FC got a freekick which was hit by Robert McChlerich. In the 18th minute of the match Ray Denune shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Evan Esson showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Cairndow City's Martin King got a good chance for a goal in the 20th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The audience thought a goal was coming when Conor McBurie got free with Benjamin Duncanson in the 29th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Grant McKeggie fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 31st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Evan Esson having to interfere. In the 33rd minute the ball was on its way in behind Newcastleton FC's goalkeeper Evan Esson, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Ray Bruce fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 38th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Benjamin Duncanson having to interfere. Martin King sent away a hard shot on goal in the 40th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 45th minute Grant McKeggie shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Evan Esson saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Evan Esson showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Grant McKeggie, who was totally free with the ball in the 48th minute. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.
Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Ray Bruce to make the kick off. Conor McBurie kicked well hit freekick during the 52nd minute of the match. In the 53rd minute Martin King shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Evan Esson saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Benjamin Duncanson made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ray Bruce in the 57th minute of play. In the 57th minute, Guy Sherry hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. If Martin King had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 61st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When Martin King in the 69th play minute got the chance to kick a hard shot on goal from short distance neither the defense or Evan Esson kept up with the ball and suddenly the score was 0-1 when the ball slipped into goal inside the left pole. Evan Esson showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Guy Sherry, who was totally free with the ball in the 73rd minute. After 74 played minutes Newcastleton FC got a freekick which was hit by Owen Gold. Grant McKeggie could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 79th minute of the match, but Evan Esson made a huge save. In the 81st minute, Billy Crum hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Ray Denune missed a clear chance of a goal when in the 83 minute of the game fired away a shot, but unfortunally the ball went out to the Evan Esson right hand side. Ray Bruce fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 87th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Benjamin Duncanson having to interfere. Ray Bruce received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 89th minute. Benjamin Duncanson tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Conor McBurie in the 91st minute of play forced Cairndow City's goalkeeper Benjamin Duncanson to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 92nd minute, Ray Bruce ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Benjamin Duncanson was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-1.
