After a defensive mix-up in Rosewell's zone, Raymond McMinn stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Walter Barr came out of the goal and Raymond McMinn tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After having played for 19 minutes, Raymond McMinn managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Tighnabruaich's supporters crossed their fingers, but Raymond McMinn was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Willie McDulothe received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 21st minute. Walter Barr tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Tighnabruaich's Raymond McMinn got a good chance for a goal in the 22nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. If Vincent McDonleavy had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 24th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Raymond McMinn kicked well hit freekick during the 30th minute of the match. Tighnabruaich's Willie McDulothe got a good chance for a goal in the 35th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. With a little luck, Rosewell's Walter Barr got control of the ball when Willie McDulothe tried to sneak it across the goal line. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Robin Griesck was the one to do the kick off. The referee gave Tighnabruaich a penalty, 57 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Norman McCrindle, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Rosewell's Walter Barr. 1-0. Rosewell's Walter Barr played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Raymond McMinn in the 60th minute of play. In the 63rd minute Raymond McMinn shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Walter Barr saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The supporters of Tighnabruaich booed when Rosewell was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 64 match minutes in a wonderful position. Keith Cole didn't get a good kick on the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Raymond McMinn in the 65th minute of play forced Rosewell's goalkeeper Walter Barr to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Robin Griesck in the 69th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Charlie Burk saved Tighnabruaich from getting behind. After 73 played minutes Robin Griesck rounded Tighnabruaich's defense and shot a beautiful shot into goal via left pole - 1-1. Walter Barr made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Raymond McMinn in the 78th minute of play. Keith Cole hit a great freekick 81 minutes into the match. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Raymond McMinn in the 83rd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Walter Barr prevented the ball from getting in the gole. After some careless play in the Tighnabruaich defense, Vincent McDonleavy kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Charlie Burk. The Tighnabruaich fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Charlie Burk should have stopped the shot. Through an outstanding action, after 93 minutes, Charlie Burk successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. Charlie Burk made a fantastic save in the 96th minute, when Vincent McDonleavy sent off a good shot on target. Chants of Rosewell echoed around the stadium as the match drew to a close. Supporters and players were both delighted with the win, as Tighnabruaich had held the ball for most of the match.
