An unexpectedly hard shot by Richard McQuire in the 17th minute of play forced skillage fc's goalkeeper Miles Rorison to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 19th minute of the game. One of Nairn AFC:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of skillage fc:s goal. 21 minutes into the game, Alex Minn cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-1. Kenneth Dowe was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Richard McQuire might have been able to make a better finish in the 29th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Miles Rorison. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out.
