In the 15th match minute, Newtonmore City was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by George McGoun to maneuver through the defense. If Grant Fyfe had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 18th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Grant Fyfe fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 22nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jimmy McCansh having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Grant Fyfe in the 24th minute of play forced Inverness AFC's goalkeeper Jimmy McCansh to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Inverness AFC's Jimmy McCansh proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 28th minute of the match, managed to save Inverness AFC from getting a goal against them. In the 32nd minute the ball was on its way in behind Newtonmore City's goalkeeper Colin Marnoch, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Grant Fyfe's late challenge caught a Inverness AFC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Grant Fyfe helped the player get up and apologised. After 41 played minutes Newtonmore City got a freekick which was hit by Grant Fyfe. John McKinnon struck a weak shot in the 44th minute. Jimmy McCansh didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Newtonmore City. When the match had gone on for 48 minutes, Grant Fyfe took a quick shot and it went in 1-0 without a chance for Jimmy McCansh to make any attempt to save it. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 1-0.

Elliot Bates's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 58thth minute, Colin Marnoch skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. After a rather tough play, Newtonmore City's Bob Haws got a free kick in the 58th minute. Elliot Bates received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 60th minute. Colin Marnoch tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If John McKinnon had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 63rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 65 minutes into the game, Charles Inches recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Colin Marnoch. Charles Inches showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-1. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Grant Fyfe in the 69th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Jimmy McCansh saved Inverness AFC from getting behind. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling John McKinnon in the 73rd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Jimmy McCansh prevented the ball from getting in the gole. The audience thought a goal was coming when Elliot Bates got free with Colin Marnoch in the 74th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Charles Inches in the 76th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Colin Marnoch saved Newtonmore City from getting behind. Graham McKay charged in rather forcefully in the 78th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. Robin McQuaire took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 79th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Jimmy McCansh. Inverness AFC's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. 84 minutes into the match, Inverness AFC's goal looked a bit too open when Grant Fyfe came free, but Jimmy McCansh reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Inverness AFC's Graham McKay got his second yellow card of the match in the 89th minute. The referee ordered Graham McKay off the ground. After 89 played minutes Inverness AFC got a freekick which was hit by Graham McKay. Jimmy McCansh showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from John McKinnon, who was totally free with the ball in the 94th minute. Neither set of supporters seemed pleased with the draw, but both teams had played equally well today.
