In the 5th minute Simon Lyall shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Dylan Bontein saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When the match clock showed 8 minutes, the score became 0-1 when Douglas Ayres sped through Alloway City's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Ricky Munro. In the 28th minute, Gus Boon ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Ricky Munro was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-2. In the 33rd minute Simon Lyall shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Dylan Bontein saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When Douglas Ayres fell near the penalty area in the 34th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Kelty City's protests and gave Douglas Ayres a yellow card for diving instead. After 35 played minutes Kelty City got a freekick which was hit by Douglas Ayres. When Simon Lyall came up free with the goalie in the 38th minute, the Alloway City fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Simon Lyall couldn't finish the play. Dylan Bontein showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Simon Lyall in the 39th minute of the match. When Elliot Gray fell near the penalty area in the 40th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Kelty City's protests and gave Elliot Gray a yellow card for diving instead. After a rather tough play, Kelty City's Elliot Gray got a free kick in the 40th minute.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Douglas Ayres to strike the kick off in the second half. Douglas Ayres's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Ricky Munro read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 54th minute of play. In the 58th minute, Simon Lyall got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. 60 minutes into the game, Alloway City's Simon Lyall nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Dylan Bontein made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-2. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Declan Dochart in the 63rd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Dylan Bontein saved Kelty City from getting behind. Dylan Bontein showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Declan Dochart, who was totally free with the ball in the 71st minute. In the 75th minute Ken McSween suffered a thigh injury and had to be helped off the field. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Max Lorne during the 75th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. The supporters of Alloway City booed when Kelty City was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 76 match minutes in a wonderful position. Max Lorne didn't get a good kick on the ball. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Declan Dochart in the 77th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Dylan Bontein saved Kelty City from getting behind. After some fancy dribbling in the 80th minute, Douglas Ayres managed to get in a good position for a shot. Kelty City's supporters rose to their feet, but Douglas Ayres was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Ricky Munro breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Dylan Bontein showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Declan Dochart, who was totally free with the ball in the 86th minute. Declan Dochart received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 89th minute. Dylan Bontein tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Kelty City's Dylan Bontein played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Declan Dochart in the 90th minute of play. Douglas Ayres received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 95th minute. Ricky Munro tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Gus Boon struck a weak shot in the 99th minute. Ricky Munro didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Kelty City. When the final whistle was heard the away supporters stood up and showed their joy. Kelty City had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
