Max Lorne really showed his touch with that goal: 1-0. A collision led to Iona getting a freekick after 7 minutes play. Brandon McKiggan hit a great ball. Richard Frizell showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Douglas Ayres, who was totally free with the ball in the 8th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Douglas Ayres in the 12th minute of play forced Iona's goalkeeper Richard Frizell to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Gus Boon's late challenge caught a Iona's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Gus Boon helped the player get up and apologised. After a rather tough play, Kelty City's Gus Boon got a free kick in the 16th minute. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Raymond Lonie in the 22nd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Dylan Bontein prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Dylan Bontein showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Hamish Murdoson in the 24th minute of the match. Iona's Richard Frizell proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 29th minute of the match, managed to save Iona from getting a goal against them. Taylor Coulson charged in rather forcefully in the 30th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Taylor Coulson the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After 30 played minutes Iona got a freekick which was hit by Taylor Coulson. Richard Frizell showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ter McLachlan, who was totally free with the ball in the 31st minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Raymond Lonie in the 32nd minute of play forced Kelty City's goalkeeper Dylan Bontein to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 35th minute, Hamish Murdoson made a precise shot to the right of Dylan Bontein. Kelty City's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 2-1. Kelty City's Ron Cobb shoveled away a really nice long shot in the 39th minute of play. The shot was stopped by Richard Frizell but with some difficulty. If Raymond Lonie had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 42nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When Raymond Lonie came up free with the goalie in the 46th minute, the Iona fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Raymond Lonie couldn't finish the play. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 2-1 at half-time.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Douglas Ayres to strike the kick off in the second half. Raymond Lonie received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 59th minute. Dylan Bontein tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 63 minutes into the match, Iona's Raymond Lonie sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Dylan Bontein narrowly saved just below the crossbar. If Raymond Lonie had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 65th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. In the 68th minute, one of Kelty City:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Kelty City. In the 70th minute there was a penalty for Iona. Raymond Lonie stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Dylan Bontein. 2-2. Richard Frizell showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Gus Boon, who was totally free with the ball in the 75th minute. Elliot Gray hit a great freekick 78 minutes into the match. If Hamish Murdoson had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 82nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Brandon McKiggan charged in rather forcefully in the 97th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Brandon McKiggan the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After 97 played minutes Iona got a freekick which was hit by Brandon McKiggan. In the 100th minute, Gus Boon hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Iona's supporters were dissatisfied at the end of the match because Kelty City had won, even though Iona had held more of the ball.
