Seating: 9, VIP seats: 0) The sun was shining, the grass was green and the audience cheered when Theo McLagan got the match started through his kick off. Tranent City's Malcolm McKechnie played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Terence McAuselan in the 3rd minute of play. With a little luck, Jaguar FC's Joe Dempster got control of the ball when Bob Lockerbie tried to sneak it across the goal line. Edward Yuille took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 9th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Malcolm McKechnie. Tranent City's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. 11 minutes into the match, Tranent City's Bob Lockerbie sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Joe Dempster narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Larry Forsyth struck a weak shot in the 14th minute. Malcolm McKechnie didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Jaguar FC. In the 18th minute, Larry Forsyth got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. 20 minutes into the game, Theo McLagan was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Tranent City's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Jaguar FC the free kick. After 20 played minutes Tranent City got a freekick which was hit by Theo McLagan. An unexpectedly hard shot by Terence McAuselan in the 25th minute of play forced Tranent City's goalkeeper Malcolm McKechnie to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 27th minute the ball was on its way in behind Jaguar FC's goalkeeper Joe Dempster, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. In the 29th minute, Bob Lockerbie left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Tranent City fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-0. Bob Lockerbie in the 43rdth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Joe Dempster, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. Theo McLagan sent away a hard shot on goal in the 45th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After a rather tough play, Jaguar FC's Danny Fox got a free kick in the 46th minute. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 1-0.
The wind increased when Terence McAuselan made the kick off in the second half. After some fancy dribbling in the 52nd minute, Terence McAuselan managed to get in a good position for a shot. Jaguar FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Terence McAuselan was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Malcolm McKechnie breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. 53 minutes into the game, Rob McIlwhom was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Tranent City's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Jaguar FC the free kick. A collision led to Jaguar FC getting a freekick after 67 minutes play. Samuel McKellaig hit a great ball. Larry Forsyth fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 80th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Malcolm McKechnie having to interfere. Theo McLagan struck a weak shot in the 88th minute. Joe Dempster didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Tranent City. Larry Forsyth sent away a hard shot on goal in the 91st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Tranent City were really happy, having secured the victory after a very even contest. They thanked the players of Jaguar FC for a fine match.
