Spectators: 32 (Terracing: 25, Seating: 7, VIP seats: 0) It was fairly windy and cold on the field when Álvaro Cardoso kicked off to start the match. In the 7th minute Jorge Barbosa shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but João Neto saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. João Neto showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Álvaro Cardoso, who was totally free with the ball in the 8th minute. Jorge Barbosa received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 15th minute. João Neto tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 17th minute, Álvaro Cardoso ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. João Neto was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-1. João Neto took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Álvaro Cardoso, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Basílio Brás showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Artur Cruz, who was totally free with the ball in the 28th minute. After a rather tough play, SC Meinedo's Luís Queirós got a free kick in the 29th minute. Pedro Neto took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 30th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for João Neto. SC Meinedo's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. With a little luck, SC Lumiares's Basílio Brás got control of the ball when Gaspar Faria tried to sneak it across the goal line. Artur Cruz recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 39th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Gaspar Faria sent away a hard shot on goal in the 41st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Disappointed in the 0-1 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Artur Cruz stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Basílio Brás showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Artur Cruz in the 65th minute of the match. After 68 minutes, José Torres mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the SC Lumiares and the SC Meinedo players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 69th match minute, SC Lumiares was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by José Torres to maneuver through the defense. Basílio Brás showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Gaspar Faria in the 70th minute of the match. A collision led to SC Meinedo getting a freekick after 72 minutes play. Américo Brito hit a great ball. After a defensive mix-up in SC Meinedo's zone, Jorge Barbosa stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. João Neto came out of the goal and Jorge Barbosa tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Gaspar Faria sent away a hard shot on goal in the 77th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 81st minute of the match, Jorge Barbosa got a very nice opportunity to score, but João Neto was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. After having played for 94 minutes, Álvaro Cardoso managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. SC Lumiares's supporters crossed their fingers, but Álvaro Cardoso was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Jorge Barbosa could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 98th minute of the match, but João Neto made a huge save. SC Lumiares's supporters were very happy and cheered loudly because their team had won after a very close match.
