In the 3rd minute, Manuel Leiria got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Jorge Guerreiro stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Manuel Leiria's shot from short distance in the 12th minute. If Abel Pinho had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 16th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Manuel Leiria struck a weak shot in the 20th minute. Jorge Guerreiro didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for SC Pinhao. Daniel Carvalho showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Abel Pinho, who was totally free with the ball in the 22nd minute. Sérgio Moura's late challenge caught a SC Pinhao's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Sérgio Moura helped the player get up and apologised. The supporters of SC Pinhao booed when Esculca was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 25 match minutes in a wonderful position. Sérgio Moura didn't get a good kick on the ball. Jorge Guerreiro took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Amadeu Setúbal, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. A collision led to Esculca getting a freekick after 29 minutes play. Sérgio Moura hit a great ball. After 33 minutes, Lucas Mota mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the SC Pinhao and the Esculca players grew even worse after the yellow card. After a rather tough play, SC Pinhao's Lucas Mota got a free kick in the 33rd minute. Abel Pinho did some fancy footwork in front of goal and succeeded to deceive the defenders so he could slam the ball in 1-0 to the left of a surprised Daniel Carvalho 34 minutes into the match. When Abel Pinho came up free with the goalie in the 40th minute, the Esculca fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Abel Pinho couldn't finish the play. If Domingos Moniz had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 45th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. João Gaspar charged in rather forcefully in the 46th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed João Gaspar the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 47th match minute, Esculca was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by João Gaspar to maneuver through the defense. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 1-0 at half-time.

Jorge Guerreiro showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Manuel Leiria in the 67th minute of the match. After 73 minutes of play Esculca's Sérgio Moura was too eager in his attempt to stop his opponent and brought him down. With that he got his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. Sérgio Moura kicked well hit freekick during the 73rd minute of the match. 75 minutes into the match, Esculca's goalkeeper Jorge Guerreiro had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Manuel Leiria. Manuel Leiria fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 80th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jorge Guerreiro having to interfere. In the 83rd match minute, SC Pinhao was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Lucas Mota to maneuver through the defense. Sérgio Soares charged in rather forcefully in the 84th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Sérgio Soares the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Amadeu Setúbal recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 91st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 95th minute Manuel Leiria shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jorge Guerreiro saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 96th minute, Abel Pinho hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field.
