In the 3rd minute, Lucas Luz hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Joel Andrade made an important save on a dangerous shot by Duarte Lisboa in the 3rd minute. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Filipe Rodrigues in the 5th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Joel Andrade prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Rogério Andrade showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Afonso Assunção, who was totally free with the ball in the 8th minute. If Pedro Reis had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 9th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Pedro Reis fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 12th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Rogério Andrade having to interfere. After a rather tough play, Castanheiro FC's Lucas Luz got a free kick in the 15th minute. David Marques was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 16th played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. After having played for 28 minutes, Duarte Lisboa managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Chelas's supporters crossed their fingers, but Duarte Lisboa was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 29th minute, Gaspar Moutinho hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 38th minute the ball was on its way in behind Castanheiro FC's goalkeeper Joel Andrade, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. After a rather tough play, Castanheiro FC's José Valente got a free kick in the 42nd minute. In the 43rd minute of the match David Marques shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Joel Andrade showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. In the 46th minute the ball was on its way in behind Chelas's goalkeeper Rogério Andrade, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. The score stood at 0-0 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.
The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Filipe Rodrigues stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Castanheiro FC's Joel Andrade played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Filipe Rodrigues in the 51st minute of play. With a little luck, Chelas's Rogério Andrade got control of the ball when Afonso Assunção tried to sneak it across the goal line. If Duarte Lisboa had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 59th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Afonso Freitas kicked well hit freekick during the 60th minute of the match. Joel Andrade didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Filipe Rodrigues went, in the 65th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-0 was the resulting score. After having played for 69 minutes, Duarte Lisboa managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Chelas's supporters crossed their fingers, but Duarte Lisboa was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. When Afonso Assunção came up free with the goalie in the 71st minute, the Castanheiro FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Afonso Assunção couldn't finish the play. 74 minutes into the match, Castanheiro FC's Afonso Assunção sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Rogério Andrade narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Pedro Reis received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 75th minute. Rogério Andrade tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Afonso Assunção's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 78thth minute, Rogério Andrade skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. Pedro Reis's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Rogério Andrade read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 85th minute of play. After a defensive mix-up in Castanheiro FC's zone, Filipe Rodrigues stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Joel Andrade came out of the goal and Filipe Rodrigues tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Pedro Reis in the 92nd minute of play forced Chelas's goalkeeper Rogério Andrade to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Joel Andrade showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Gonçalo Gomes, who was totally free with the ball in the 94th minute. When José Valente fell near the penalty area in the 95th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Castanheiro FC's protests and gave José Valente a yellow card for diving instead. In the 95th match minute, Castanheiro FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by José Valente to maneuver through the defense. For all the effort they put into the match, the Castanheiro FC players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Chelas.
