In the 13th minute, Diamantino Queirós sent off a long shot on goal, but the shot was nowhere near the goal and Aveloso FC's Manuel Cardoso didn't even have to move. José Rodrigues made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Pedro Pires in the 17th minute of play. Manuel Cardoso made a fantastic save in the 21st minute, when Cláudio Amaro sent off a good shot on target. Aveloso FC's Manuel Cardoso played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Cláudio Amaro in the 26th minute of play. José Rodrigues made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Manuel Anjos in the 27th minute of play. After 30 played minutes SC Carril got a freekick which was hit by Jaime Fonseca. After the first half Aveloso FC were leading 0-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Cláudio Amaro stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. In the 61st minute the ball was on its way in behind SC Carril's goalkeeper José Rodrigues, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. A collision led to Aveloso FC getting a freekick after 64 minutes play. Manuel Cardoso showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Paulo Paredes, who was totally free with the ball in the 72nd minute. With a little luck, SC Carril's José Rodrigues got control of the ball when Basílio Andrade tried to sneak it across the goal line. José Rodrigues made an important save on a dangerous shot by Basílio Andrade in the 85th minute. In the 86th minute, Miguel Campos hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. José Rodrigues took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Pedro Pires, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side.
