Manuel Paredes received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 8th minute. Mário Guarda tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Cláudio Pacheco had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 9th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 11 minutes, Henrique Fontes mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the SC Angeja and the SC Fogueteiro players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 14th match minute, SC Fogueteiro was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Rui Leão to maneuver through the defense. In the 18th minute Cláudio Pacheco shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Mário Guarda saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Mário Guarda showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Cláudio Pacheco, who was totally free with the ball in the 19th minute. Ricardo Dantas sent away a hard shot on goal in the 48th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. The SC Angeja fans' excitement grew in the 49th match minute when SC Angeja's Carlos Cabral looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 0-1 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.
The wind increased when Carlos Cabral made the kick off in the second half. Eusébio Brito charged in rather forcefully in the 54th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Eusébio Brito the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Carlos Cabral recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 84th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Cláudio Pacheco's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Mário Guarda read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 88th minute of play. Cristóvão Brito kicked well hit freekick during the 89th minute of the match. Mário Guarda took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Manuel Paredes, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Manuel Paredes fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 91st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Mário Guarda having to interfere. When Cláudio Pacheco came up free with the goalie in the 94th minute, the SC Fogueteiro fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Cláudio Pacheco couldn't finish the play. In the 95th match minute, SC Angeja was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Cristóvão Brito to maneuver through the defense. In the 96th minute, Manuel Paredes made a precise shot to the right of Mário Guarda. SC Angeja's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-1. Both teams had looked equal from kick-off, and no-one was surprised when the match finally ended in a draw.
