The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 22 minutes into the match, SC Padescas's goal looked a bit too open when Joaquim Nascimento came free, but João Barros reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When Cláudio Borges came up free with the goalie in the 23rd minute, the SC Padescas fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Cláudio Borges couldn't finish the play. Simão Ferreira charged in rather forcefully in the 25th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Simão Ferreira the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 24th minute of the game. One of SC Algoceira:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of SC Padescas:s goal. When Duarte Amorim fell near the penalty area in the 30th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored SC Algoceira's protests and gave Duarte Amorim a yellow card for diving instead. Duarte Amorim hit a great freekick 30 minutes into the match. Nuno Vale fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 31st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Bernardo Moniz having to interfere. When SC Padescas's Nuno Vale in the 34th minute got a chance for a shot 34th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye SC Algoceira's goalie prevented a goal. After having played for 36 minutes, Nuno Vale managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. SC Padescas's supporters crossed their fingers, but Nuno Vale was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. João Barros made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Joaquim Nascimento in the 37th minute of play. Bernardo Moniz didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Nuno Vale went, in the 46th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-2 was the resulting score.
The wind increased when Nuno Vale made the kick off in the second half. SC Padescas's Duarte Figueiredo got a good chance for a goal in the 52nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. SC Padescas's João Barros played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Joaquim Nascimento in the 57th minute of play. The audience was convinced that Joaquim Nascimento's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but João Barros was relentless in the 58th minute of the game. After some fancy dribbling in the 60th minute, Filipe Barbosa managed to get in a good position for a shot. SC Algoceira's supporters rose to their feet, but Filipe Barbosa was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. João Barros breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Filipe Barbosa recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 62nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After having played for 66 minutes, Cláudio Borges managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. SC Padescas's supporters crossed their fingers, but Cláudio Borges was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Inácio Nogueira's late challenge caught a SC Padescas's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Inácio Nogueira helped the player get up and apologised. In the 69th match minute, SC Algoceira was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Inácio Nogueira to maneuver through the defense. David Freitas was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 70th played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. After a rather tough play, SC Algoceira's Duarte Amorim got a free kick in the 71st minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Joaquim Nascimento in the 77th minute of play forced SC Padescas's goalkeeper João Barros to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. During the 79th minute of the match Duarte Amorim completely mistimed his tackle and brought down his opponent. The referee gave Duarte Amorim a yellow card, his second in the match, which meant he could no longer take part in the game. Nuno Vale received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 82nd minute. Bernardo Moniz tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After having played for 84 minutes, Cláudio Borges managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. SC Padescas's supporters crossed their fingers, but Cláudio Borges was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Cláudio Borges's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Bernardo Moniz read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 95th minute of play. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. SC Padescas walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
