António Pedroso came out and tried to block the shot, but Emanuel Costa slotted it home off the left post making it 1-0 in the 6th minute. In the 16thth minute of the game José Pires who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Argoncilhe's António Pedroso was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. With a little luck, Argoncilhe's António Pedroso got control of the ball when José Pires tried to sneak it across the goal line. Everyone was convinced a goal was close when SC Crueis's Emanuel Costa in the 21st minute lifted the ball towards the upper right corner, but António Pedroso was perfectly placed and prevented a goal for Argoncilhe through an amazing save. The supporters of Argoncilhe booed when SC Crueis was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 22 match minutes in a wonderful position. Diogo Moura didn't get a good kick on the ball. Miguel Setúbal recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 23rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Bruno Gonçalves's late challenge caught a SC Crueis's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Bruno Gonçalves helped the player get up and apologised. In the 32nd match minute, Argoncilhe was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Bruno Gonçalves to maneuver through the defense. An unexpectedly hard shot by Emanuel Costa in the 34th minute of play forced Argoncilhe's goalkeeper António Pedroso to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 39 minutes into the match, Argoncilhe's goalkeeper António Pedroso had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by José Pires. The audience thought a goal was coming when José Pires got free with António Pedroso in the 46th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Af the end of the first half the score was 1-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Emanuel Costa to strike the kick off in the second half. 53 minutes into the match, SC Crueis's Emanuel Costa sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that António Pedroso narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Vasco Esteves kicked well hit freekick during the 55th minute of the match. The audience was convinced that Emanuel Costa's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but António Pedroso was relentless in the 58th minute of the game. 59 minutes into the match, Emanuel Costa had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of António Pedroso. Argoncilhe's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Emanuel Costa was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-0. José Pires might have been able to make a better finish in the 64th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over António Pedroso. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. José Pires ran back to his position shaking his head. Emanuel Costa received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 66th minute. António Pedroso tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 68th minute, Miguel Setúbal made a precise shot to the right of Alexandre Leão. SC Crueis's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 2-1. José Pires struck a weak shot in the 73rd minute. António Pedroso didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for SC Crueis. Alexandre Leão made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Miguel Setúbal in the 78th minute of play. 86 minutes into the match, SC Crueis's goalkeeper Alexandre Leão had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Hugo Viana. After 89 played minutes Argoncilhe got a freekick which was hit by Vasco Esteves. Emanuel Costa sent away a hard shot on goal in the 93rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Vasco Esteves charged in rather forcefully in the 95th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Vasco Esteves the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Emanuel Costa in the 96th minute of play forced Argoncilhe's goalkeeper António Pedroso to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Argoncilhe's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
