Manuel Luz charged in rather forcefully in the 12th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Manuel Luz the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Jacinto Matias kicked well hit freekick during the 22nd minute of the match. If Eusébio Figueiredo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 24th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Montinho's Carlos Sousa played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Joaquim Nogueira in the 26th minute of play. Joel Fonseca's late challenge caught a Juromenha's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Joel Fonseca helped the player get up and apologised. Joel Fonseca hit a great freekick 27 minutes into the match. Carlos Sousa took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Miguel Brito, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Juromenha's Miguel Brito got a good chance for a goal in the 35th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 40thth minute of the game Joaquim Nogueira who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Montinho's Carlos Sousa was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Joaquim Nogueira in the 43rd minute of play forced Montinho's goalkeeper Carlos Sousa to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Miguel Brito took the ball and in the 47 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Carlos Sousa. Carlos Sousa dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-1. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Miguel Brito stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. With a little luck, Montinho's Carlos Sousa got control of the ball when Joaquim Nogueira tried to sneak it across the goal line. 54 minutes into the game, Jorge Santos was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Juromenha's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Montinho the free kick. After a rather tough play, Juromenha's Nuno Leiria got a free kick in the 55th minute. Juromenha's Cláudio Tavares played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Manuel Vale in the 58th minute of play. In the 61st minute, Eusébio Figueiredo got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. When Montinho's Eusébio Figueiredo in the 65th minute got a chance for a shot 65th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. Miguel Brito showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-2. 73 minutes in the game, Joaquim Nogueira fired away an excellent shot, which passed to the side of the right post without Carlos Sousa having to interfere. Eusébio Figueiredo fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 76th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Cláudio Tavares having to interfere. Montinho's Eusébio Figueiredo got a good chance for a goal in the 78th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 80th minute the ball was on its way in behind Juromenha's goalkeeper Cláudio Tavares, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Eusébio Figueiredo in the 82nd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Cláudio Tavares saved Juromenha from getting behind. When Montinho's Manuel Vale in the 85th minute got a chance for a shot 85th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Juromenha's goalie prevented a goal. Juromenha's supporters were very happy and cheered loudly because their team had won after a very close match.
