He was immediately shown a red card. Beiroz FC's Rogério Faro got a good chance for a goal in the 14th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. When Tomás Dias got free in front of the goal in the 16th minute he wasn't very focused and chipped the ball just over the goal. Cláudio Tavares was delighted since he was out of position and the ball would have got in if it had gone under the crossbar. Afonso Pacheco showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Miguel Brito, who was totally free with the ball in the 18th minute. After 19 minutes, Sérgio Coelho mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Beiroz FC and the Juromenha players grew even worse after the yellow card. Carlos Vieira was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 20th played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. After a defensive mix-up in Beiroz FC's zone, Manuel Luz stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Afonso Pacheco came out of the goal and Manuel Luz tried to chip the ball over his head. Miguel Brito's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Afonso Pacheco read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 88th minute of play. 92 minutes into the match, Beiroz FC's goal looked a bit too open when Miguel Brito came free, but Afonso Pacheco reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Tomás Dias fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 93rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Cláudio Tavares having to interfere. The final whistle blew with the score still tied, and both teams left the pitch thinking about the missed chances that could have given their team the win.
