But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Gaspar Barbosa couldn't finish the play. Jorge Neto took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Joel Freitas, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. A hard shot by Diogo Torres from long distance, 12 minutes into the match, got Manuel Henriques's attention. Through a fast twist with his body, he could stop the ball from going in on his right side. Manuel Henriques stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Alexandre Branco's shot from short distance in the 13th minute. The supporters of Comunhas booed when Torneiro FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 15 match minutes in a wonderful position. Armando Costa didn't get a good kick on the ball. Gaspar Barbosa fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 20th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jorge Neto having to interfere. 21 minutes into the game, one of Torneiro FC:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. In the 27thth minute of the game Alexandre Branco who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Comunhas's Manuel Henriques was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. 29 minutes into the match, Comunhas's goal looked a bit too open when Alexandre Branco came free, but Manuel Henriques reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Adelino Branco kicked well hit freekick during the 33rd minute of the match. When the match had gone on for 39 minutes, Alexandre Branco took a quick shot and it went in 1-1 without a chance for Manuel Henriques to make any attempt to save it. Manuel Moreira received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 47th minute. Manuel Henriques tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere.
When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Alexandre Branco made a kick off. Ricardo Valente hit a great freekick 52 minutes into the match. A collision led to Comunhas getting a freekick after 53 minutes play. Ricardo Valente hit a great ball. Manuel Moreira received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 55th minute. Manuel Henriques tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Alexandre Branco got in the 56th a clear chance and fired away a hard shot against goal, but Manuel Henriques handled the situation perfectly and made a save by the crossbar. After a defensive mix-up in Torneiro FC's zone, Gaspar Barbosa stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Jorge Neto came out of the goal and Gaspar Barbosa tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 60th minute, Joel Freitas got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. With a little luck, Torneiro FC's Jorge Neto got control of the ball when Joel Freitas tried to sneak it across the goal line. After a defensive mix-up in Torneiro FC's zone, Joel Freitas stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Jorge Neto came out of the goal and Joel Freitas tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Alexandre Branco in the 74th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Manuel Henriques prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 80th minute Gaspar Barbosa shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jorge Neto saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Adolfo Magalhães's late challenge caught a Comunhas's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Adolfo Magalhães helped the player get up and apologised. In the 81st match minute, Torneiro FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Adolfo Magalhães to maneuver through the defense. Joel Freitas recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 83rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Joel Freitas blasted a shot towards the goal in the 87th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Jorge Neto having to make a save. Manuel Henriques didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Manuel Moreira went, in the 92nd minute, to the upper right corner, 3-1 was the resulting score. 96 minutes into the game, one of Comunhas:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. The referee gave Torneiro FC a penalty, 98 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Diogo Torres, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Comunhas's Manuel Henriques. 4-1. Comunhas's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
